This has been my gym for more than 8 years. It is not the best one or the more beautiful one. It actually has quite a few weaknesses but I am now used to it and it is near my house. To be completely honest I can see that the management is try g hard to improve it: there are new machines, staff is now more helpful and nice and they also offer free towels which is really a plus. Also the sauna area has got some improvement and it is generally clean and well kept.
It's a welcoming Gym that I love to go to. However I have to give 3 stars because of its current condition: Lockers are mostly not working, many of the weight machines have some form of malfunction and showers are so so Please FitnessFirst... invest in some basic maintenance here so I can give the staff 5 stars
5th floor, The Roof Gardens, Kensington High Street, Kensington, London W8 5SA, UK – 020 7666 6000
I love Equinox! As a member of the Equinox Sports Club in NYC, I decided the day I landed in London to do an Athletic Conditioning class in the Kensington location and it was superb. The staff are excellent, super accommodating and personable. It was such fun and I am definitely looking forward to returning and participating in more classes come the holidays. Thank you EQUINOX for a fit workout and a fab experience.
My experience at equinox was amazing, the staff were outstanding all throughout my visit. Starting with the front desk who welcomed me with my name and then with the personal trainers assisting me with any help I needed and finally the maintenance who were non stop working making the place look spotless! Highly recommend!
Bayswater House, 6 Moscow Pl, London W2 4AP, UK – 0345 013 3261
This is my main gym. It’s quite big and has a range of exercise machines and equipment. There are a number of staff available on site to help you if need be. However, some gym users have no respect for others and will hog the machines or equipment. It’s unfair on those who are trying to become healthy but that’s a given in any gym. Pure Gym is by far the best Gym business in the UK and I always appreciate the quality of service, equipment and how well furnished the gyms are.
Good, centrally located gym. Not bad for space but gets busy. Always clean and looked after. Daytime parking expensive around the gym if you are driving.
Chelsea Manor St, Chelsea, London SW3 5PL, UK – 020 7352 6985
A great boon to health in the heart of Chelsea. Excellent 25 m pool and changing rooms/showers refurbished recently to a high standard. Fully equipped gym with all the hardware you could need. From the basic weights, rowing machines etc up to some very high tech kit. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Members have access to various classes in all areas of fitness included.
The changing rooms have been refitted and now make no distinction between male and female. Everyone has an individual cubicle. A well maintained centre offering a good range of facilities. Nice pool.
Silchester Rd, London W10 6EX, UK – 020 3793 8210
Great place to play badminton with up to 7 courts and the lighting isn't bad. Courts are set up quickly and efficiently and staff are always friendly just wish they had a water fountain by the sports hall! (You have to travel 2 floors up, which is fine when the lift is working!) Only real issue is why have a spiral staircase? There's plenty of room for stairs that would be easier and safer to use if you have any mobility issues and you can't use the lift.
Well.... although given 4stars on goggle I must wonder about that. It's neat enough, but girls at the reception desk are rather dizzy. I visited for the first time to have pool training session. Girl could not tell me much where to go or how many lanes or even if I'd ever been there)So I made my way somewhat. Lockers take £1 coin which I did not know. All hairdryers are out of order) Pool itself is ok. You can train if you get lane to yourself. Otherwise lanes are narrow. I'll sure visit again on Friday when pool is opened to adults only. Just to double check and compare the visits))
Chalk Hill Rd, Hammersmith, London W6 8DW, UK – 020 8741 8028
Its a inexpensive gym with a positive mission. I like that they have a functional area as well as an squat rack and even an deadlift area where you can drop weights. There is a sauna and squash courts too! For the cost (something like 20£) it's a great deal. I however didn't really like how dirty the shower area was, there was mold on the wall and ceiling and the floor was sticky. Also a some of the equipment wasn't working or was poor quality.
I go to this gym a few times a week. They have areas upstairs and downstairs for machines and weights. There are two big screens with sports tv and you can plug your headset into the machines. There are many aerobic classes available but I haven't been to any yet. I love the sauna which is located on the changing room but it can only hold approx five people. I hate that a lot of women use it while naked which is against the rules. The toilets are filthy and always smell bad and there are only two cubicles for members and staff. The showers are filthy and grungy. Full of hair and soap scum and all the water and soap etc slopes down to the end cubicle. Again, some women walk around naked 😣 The rooms are cleaned throughout the day but not regularly enough. The music is blaring, can't get away from it. The monthly rates are good, the lockers take a £1 coin/ a shopping trolley token or you can buy one a reception-they are returned when you open the locker with the key. Great place apart from the cleanliness. The vending machine is extortionate. Only ever seen it used by staff. Easy to get to. Next to Hammersmith Buses and Underground.
The Club House, 261 Lonsdale Road, Barnes, London SW13 9QL, UK – 020 8748 6220
Great hockey club in West London with all of its own facilities (water-based pitch) and clubhouse.
Great little club
Aspenlea Rd, Hammersmith, London W6 8LH, UK – 020 8741 3654
Great pool. Friendly staff. Useful gym for a regular gym goer!
Nice leisure centre for children and people living in Hammersmith. There is a 25 meters swimming pool, fitness suites, squash, group exercise classes, badminton, table tennis.
S Carriage Dr, London W2 2UH, UK – 020 7262 3474
The lawn ball sitting area is perfect for a short quiet rest on a Sunday afternoon having a cup of coffee or tea while u bask in the glorious sunshine. The food was reasonably good, and bathroom facilities are adequate. Staff are generally friendly. The large cookies are soft and flavoursome. There's free water that u can pour from a jug of water near the counter. I can't really fault this place, not when they even have gluten free brownies in case someone has dietary requirements. I took a closer picture of the croissant!
We love it here and visit often. Friendly and welcoming. Great food and drink
