Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around West Kensington

Mustard Restaurant

98-100 Shepherds Bush Rd, Shepherd's Bush, London W6 7PD, UK – 020 3019 1175

Enjoyed our meal here. I did find the restaurant slightly under staffed and so it took a while to order and for the food to arrive. When the food arrived it was tasty. It was quite quiet for a Friday night. More tables empty than full. They had a set menu which was £15.95 for 2 courses and £17.95 for 3 courses. Mains carried in price between about £12-22. Small selection of beer and wine by the glass, carafe or bottle. I would return and would recommend it.

Having been to Mustard upwards of nearly 30 times now since they opened, it still remains my favorite local go to spot, especially for weekend brunch. My husband and I are always bringing friends, clients and visiting family here. The food is fantastic (best salmon and eggs around), plenty of vegetarian options too. The staff is very friendly and the coffee always delicious. Great wifi too which is always a plus. Love this place so much!

Wildwood

21 Station Rd, London SW13 0LF, UK – 020 8876 8479

Great location. Loved the kids play area. It really made my meal more enjoyable. The food was a bit heavy though. I ordered a cobb salad to have a light meal but it was served with chicken thighs instead of breasts and doused in creamy dressing. Rosemary bread was good but over oiled. Servers were both very friendly and sweet to my very active and loud 2 year old.

Great housewine lovely salad dressing didn't like paper burger served on. Music tonight very good

Medlar

438 King's Rd, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ, UK – 020 7349 1900

In my option Medlar is good quality ingredients cooked well, but nothing taste or combination wise that will excite the adventurous diner. I feel it’s aimed at the old school rich diner that doesn’t want extravagant flavours, just hearty food done perfectly. I personally like to spend my money in a place that is exciting and provides me with new taste experiences. Feed back - sommelier only made one suggestion when we asked for his advice and went straight to the top of the price range we’d suggested. I expect a couple of suggestions price and style wise and to be asked what I’m eating if they are to make a suitable suggestion. Raw scallop starter was tiny, unnecessarily so Our wine glasses kept being overfilled.

Excellent French food! I had the recommended meal which was venison and quail egg. Definitely top notch with perfect flavor and portion size(try plum ice-cream for desert). Wine selection is superb as well that will fit any budget. Staff was very friendly and patient. Overall an excellent experience!
